Just Who We Think We Are, Anyway

We are just a small group of Evansville residents who enjoy seeing over-the-top expressions of holiday cheer.  During the rest of the year, we often spend time in the similar pursuit of visiting the visionary environments of self-taught artists who lavish otherwise perfectly good time and attention on their property, sculpting elaborate concrete structures studded with bottles, tile scraps and hubcaps; trimming their maple trees with baby dolls or shoes; or otherwise "wasting" their time in creating something insanely beautiful and useless.  We see the Christmas season as a chance for everyone to join in and become such a noble, quixotic kook, if only for a few weeks out of the year.

Oddly, our own houses are only modestly festooned for the season, and it can only be said that we are downright lazy for sapping our holiday cheer off of those who are willing to put in the obsessive time and energy.  We admire you and salute you.
